Privacy Policy
Commons is a social learning app from CommonsLearn. This policy explains the information we expect to collect, how we use it, and the choices available as the product prepares for launch.
Information We Collect
Commons may collect account and authentication data, such as your login method, account identifiers, authentication events, and basic account settings.
Commons may collect profile data you choose to provide, such as a display name, handle, bio, profile image, interests, and other profile details.
Commons may collect learning progress and activity, including course enrollment, lesson progress, review state, quiz answers, spaced repetition history, knowledge tree growth, and generated or custom course content created for your account.
Commons may collect interactions with the app, including swipes, skips, likes, saves, article opens, deck opens, card responses, poll votes, course progress, and similar signals that help the app understand what you are curious about.
How We Use Information
We use information to operate Commons, authenticate accounts, save progress, personalize recommendations, generate and improve learning content, provide support, prevent abuse, debug issues, and understand whether the product is working well.
Recommendation signals are intended to help Commons find better intellectual matches: topics, courses, articles, cards, and paths you are likely to care about and understand.
Storage and Service Providers
Commons uses backend services and Supabase-backed storage for account, profile, progress, interaction, and content data. We may also use service providers for hosting, authentication, analytics, email delivery, crash reporting, and content generation.
These providers process information on our behalf so Commons can run securely and reliably.
Generated and Custom Content
If you request or interact with generated courses, decks, lessons, cards, quizzes, or explanations, Commons may store that content and related progress so you can continue learning and so the app can improve its recommendations and reliability.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We may share information with service providers, when needed to operate Commons, comply with law, protect rights and safety, or complete a business transaction such as a merger or acquisition.
Future social features may make some profile, saved, created, or learning-related activity visible to other users when you choose to publish or share it.
Your Choices
You may request help accessing, correcting, or deleting account information by contacting Commons support. Some records may be retained when required for security, legal compliance, abuse prevention, backups, or legitimate operations.
Children
Commons is not intended for children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will take steps to delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy as Commons develops. The updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
